Differences between first pregnancy & second pregnancy
I’ll be the first to tell you - pregnancy is NOT my favorite time. I feel guilty saying that because, of course, I am so thankful and grateful to have a baby boy on the way … but man, am I tired. This pregnancy is definitely different than my first, in MANY ways.
Moving SLOWER. — I feel like I was exercising and moving right along all the way until the end with my first pregnancy.. okay, maybe until week 36. I’m currently 32 weeks and I’m seriously moving at a snails pace. Even a short walk can set my Braxton Hicks over the edge!!
More tired. — I’m going to chalk this up to taking care of a 14 month old at home, in my third trimester, working full time, trying to be a wife, run an instagram, get dinner on the table. Sometimes I think something has to give… and usually it’s IG. Which is FINE! But man, the exhaustion is at another level. I found some relief in the second trimester for a few short weeks, but lately I am ready for bed at 8 pm!
Weeks are going faster. — This pregnancy is going so much faster. I would say up until 20 weeks, other than feeling terrible, I would almost forget I was pregnant! All of a sudden I thought, “Wow, I’m halfway there.” Simply because I had other things to worry about! This is definitely a perk of a second pregnancy because it can be LONG. It’s a marathon, not a sprint… that’s for damn sure.
Way more laid back! — During my first pregnancy, I was googling every. single. symptom. Not this time because a lot of the symptoms are the same. Cramping. Pelvic bone pain. Constant peeing. I very frequently think been there, done that.
Need way less “stuff.” — Other than clothes, we REALLY are not buying much. We just don’t need it! We are reusing a lot of what we had for Pippa. There was no registry this time. No shower. We will take out the tupperware of newborn stuff from the garage and call it a day.
