I've always wanted to start a blog

I have. Honestly. Ask any of my friends. I have always wanted to start a blog. I did a lot of talking the talk, but never actually walked the walk. I mentioned it, threw out some ideas, rallied with some topics, but really never felt invested in any one of them. There is also a legitimate fear that no one will read it. In college, I wanted to do a modern day Sex and the City, highlighting the beauty of college dating. That’s probably still a gold mine if you ask me. While at Yale, I wanted to do Gym + Tonic (FYI - it’s already taken and copyrighted… you go girl). What was I going to talk about with that one - gym and gin?? Following graduation, I thought about blogging about living on a budget and getting out of school debt (which would have gone nowhere as I’m still trying to figure that out). And now, here I am. Botox By Bridget. Happy to be here, proud of the past year, and feeling really excited to expand a bit.

One year ago, instead of committing to a blog, I committed to instagram. I could swallow it. I could reason with it. I knew I could do it. But let me be clear- there is nothing more truly cringe-worthy than taking pictures of yourself. I’m sorry, but seriously. It’s painful. It’s like I’m trying to be discreet, yet I’m standing in the middle of Cedars Sinai during lunch, pretending that 10 nurses aren’t staring at me as they eat their meal (shameless plug- Cedars employees get 15% off!!!). But, Botox By Bridget became a really fun outlet for me. It gave me a creative way to share what I’m learning myself, day in and day out. Skincare is not easy. I struggle with it too! There are an overwhelming amount of serums, lotions, creams, and treatments. It can be tough to figure out what works for you, but it does not have to be impossible. I get a good amount of questions regarding the PA profession, my job, or some of the services we offer. There are a ton of topics I’ve wanted to explore a little more in depth than I think Instagram can handle.

Moving from the East Coast and trying to navigate Southern California presents enough content in itself. Fun fact: people from California reference the appearance of clouds the same way people from the East Coast reference a clear blue sky. If I had a quarter for every time someone here said, “Look at the clouds,” I actually may be out of student debt. It’s been a learning process, and I’m really trying to embrace the cool, easy mentality while living here, while keep my sarcasm at bay. Trying, keyword trying.

So whether you want to learn the latest skin trends, see how my East Coast personality is surviving in La La Land, or are curious to see what life as a Physician Assistant is like - here I am. Happy to have you + happy to welcome you.
